The Little Mermaid in the port of Copenhagen now substituted by live transmission on LED-screen from the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.
The Little Mermaid situated at the waterfront in the port of Copenhagen is the most popular tourist attraction in Denmark .The statue is a national symbol and landmark and synonymous with Copenhagen. The Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen, wrote the fairy tale of The Little Mermaid in 1837. On the 25th March 2010 The Little Mermaid left her rock in the port of Copenhagen for Shanghai, China - where she will sit in the harbour bath filled with seawater from Copenhagen in the heart of the Danish Pavilion at The World EXPO 2010 until October, where 70 million people will get a chance to meet the world-famous lady. In the meantime The Little Mermaid can be watched live from Shanghai on a large LED-screen placed at her usual position in the port of Copenhagen.
