Manila, Philippines. Mar 9, 2024: Philippine National Railways (PNR) operations in Metro Manila will stop for 5 years on March 28, as per Department of Transportation (DOTr). The closure, expected to affect many Filipinos in the capital, will be compensated by buses and will speed up the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project by 8 months. Once completed, the NSCR will run from Clark, Pampanga to Calamba, Laguna. The mega railway, part of PH ambitious rail expansion project, is expected to accommodate up to 800,000 passengers per : Kevin Izorce/Alamy Live News
