Browne &Spaulding, of New York city,have prepared for a present toMrs. General Grant. The frame-work of the comb is of fine gold,beautifully chased and wroughtin imitation of two oakenbranches intertwined and exhib-iting distinctly the knots androughness of the bark. Acorns,fourteen in number, and set incups of gold exquisitely enam-eled, are depending from the twomain stems, one of them attachedby twigs and others suspendedby chains. The leaf work, set-ting, etc., are inimitable. Theear-rings have each a largeacorn as a pendant, with two leaves and miniature acorns above. The brooch. 677 —
