Bexsero, meningitis B vaccine. Packet of Bexsero, the meningococcal vaccine used against meningitis B, a disease caused by serogroup B of the Neisseria meningitidis bacterium. Meningitis is a potentially fatal inflammation of the brain membranes (meninges). This vaccine was developed by Novartis and approved for use in the European Union in January 2013. In the UK, it was added to the childhood immunisation programme from 1 September 2015.
