Epidermolysis bullosa. Hands of a five year old girl with epidermolysis bullosa (EB). EB is a rare inherited skin disease characterized by the development of blisters following minimal pressure to the skin. Here the damage has lead to the loss of the thumbnails and middle fingernails. There is no cure for the condition. Treatment is aimed at preventing infections and minimising the number of blisters.
