Male flowers considerablylarger than the female, irregularly ovoid, obtuse, 1/5 to 1/4inch long; calyx very small, with slightly imbricate, scarious,subpellucid, subdeltoid, obtuse or acute, and more or less carinatesepals ; petals considerably longer than the sepals, concave, thinlypergamentaceous, irregularly ovate-oblong
