In the summer of 1857 he removed toMarienville, Forest Co., Pa., where he was thepioneer lawyer, and became the first districtattorney of that county, serving in 1859 he located at Brookville, Pa., wherehe continued to practice, and he became wellknown here, gaining a high place among thetrustworthy attorneys at the Jefferson county. Conrad, son of John Conrad, above,was born in Brookville Nov. n, 1874, andobtained his early education in the local publicschools, graduating from the Brookville highschool in the class of 1892. Thereafter he con-tinued his literary studies under private tutor-ship. He entered his fathers office as a lawstudent, was admitted to the bar of Jeffersoncounty May 11, 1896, and at once devotedhimself to active practice. Having gained ad-mission to the Supreme and Superior courtsand the Federal courts, he materially widenedthe scope of his work. His offices are in theTitle & Trust Companys building, and he hasbeen the attorney for the Brookville Title &Trust Company ever since its organization, inwhich he took a leading part and of which he
