R. Congo (Hayman et al. 1966). Baeten et al. (1964) listed Af. schreibersi from Rwanda. But small measurements suggest M. n. arenarius. Koopman (1975) considered examples from S Sudan to be M. arenarius, although he then attached them to M. schreibersi. The adjoining ranges in Kenya and Tan- zania remain unclear, but in Uganda M. n. arenarius seems to prefer hill forests.
