Considerable trouble was experienced in germinating it last season, but we have every reason to believe that it will be much stronger this year. The sowing which we made in our experimental grounds about the middle of April, at which time the ground was dry and warm, germinated very satisfactorily ; we would therefore advise that sowings be delayed until the ground is in that condition. (See cut.) 10 cts. per packet. DOUBLE SWEET PEAS. In some of the varieties the process of selection has resulted in the production of double flowers, but this character has been hard to fix, the tendency being to revert to the original type; but after several years of patient work we feel that the varieties here offered will under favorable conditions produce a very large percentage of double flowers. Double Sweet Peas have much to commend them, the flowers being beautifully crimped and waved with none of the stiffness usual to double flowers. PER PKT. 6852 Double Apple Blossom.
