It will be found best to use 2- inch pipe, and for heating a green- house of the size mentioned I would suggest the use of fifteen pipes, eight feet in length. These would extend back from the rear of the grate for a distance of three and one-half feet. The pipes can either be arranged so as to be all over the fire-pot, or a part of them can be on the sides. The over- head pipes may be anywhere from fif- teen to eighteen inches above the grate, and if room for firing pottery is de- sired over the pipes, space for it should be left when putting in the boiler. Of course the return pipes should connect with the bottom of the coils, while the flow pipes should lead out from the top and, if possible, the returns should con- nect with the latter, while the flow pipes should be joined at the front of the coil. Owing to their size apd the difficulty of supporting them, the 4- inch pipes are generally under the benches, but it is a g|ood plan to have the flow pipes carried upon the wall space. • THt: FUEL MAEKET.
