Acalypha Sanderl!.—This plant goes under various names, such as " Chenille Plant," "Philippine Medusa," "Comet Plant," "Dewey's Favorite Flower," "Bloody Cat Tail," etc. Without doubt the most sensational new plant introduced for many years, and one of the most striking flowering ornamental plants we have ever seen. It is of strong, free growth, with large, dark green leaves, from each axil of which rope-like spikes, from one to two feet long and nearly one inch thick, of velvety crimson flowers, are gracefully suspended, as shown in our illustration. This conveys but a faint idea of the beauty and distinct warm coloring of this splendid acquisition, but the remarkable floriferousness and the great size of the spikes of flowers (com- pared to the plant) are fairly well shown The plant is in flower the year round, and is as easily grown as a Coleus, simply re- quiring a warm temperature to develop its full beauty. Fine plants, 15 cents each. Acalypha is a very ornamental bed- ding plant, the foliage being bronze, crimson and green. Very beautiful. Grows rapidly. 10 cents each.
