Army Col. Matthew McFarlane, commanding officer of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, presented Air Force 1st Lt. Kepple with an award after the Spartan Sprint Triathlon competition that began and ended at Buckner Gym Sept. 7, 2013, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The triathlon consisted of a 300-yard swim, 12-mile bike route and 5 kilometer run. All military ID card holders were welcome and the first 100 registrations received a Spartan Sprint T-shirt.
