Post E. at Milwaukee, a prominentcitizen and a leading business man at Eagle,was born at Wachstadt, Saxony, Germany, , 1840. Until he was 17 years old he residedwith his parents, John and Mary (Ehrhardt)Lins, in his native place, engaged in theacquirement of a thorough German 1857 the family emigrated to the New Worldand soon after landing at the port of New York,located on a farm in Franklin, near of their children are still living. Afterhis arrival in America, Mr. Lins was occupieda year on the farm and when 18 years old heobtained employ witli B. Stamm & Co., at Mil-waukee, with whom be was engaged until hewent to St. Louis in 1859. There he wasemployed in a hotel and in 1860 went to NewOrleans, and was engaged in business thereuntil the difficulties between the North andS
