This is cer- tainly the most striking shrub that has been in- troduced in recent years. It is a cut-leaved golden elder and a charming novelty. It has a beautiful fern-like golden foliage, which retains its showy bright yellow color through the entire summer and until late in autumn. This is one of the most interesting shrubs we saw in Europe the past summer. Ea. 50c., doz. $ S. plumosa laclniata. Variety of the plumosa, with large leaves largely and irregularly dented; spherical red fruit. Ea. 50c, S. plumosa ornata. Leaves also irregularly divid- ed. Remarkable for the abundance of its fruits. Ea. 50c. S. tenuifolia. Variety with foliage finely cut, looking like the Japanese Acer,and keeping well in any soil and at any exposure. Ea. 50c. S. Thunbergianus- Japan sort, with enormous foliage and producing flowers in clusters. Ea. 50c. S. racemosa syn. pubens- This variety is quite distinct; beautiful panicles of white flowers, and same are succeeded throughout the summer with red berries which make this shrub in ap- pearance like a Crimson Eambler in bloom.
