Henderson, Omaha, and the Dole Floral Company, Beatrice, won the premiums at the floral exhibition of the State Horticultural Society conducted in connection with the annual meeting here January 16-18. J. H. Hadkinson, Omaha, was elected president, C. S, Harrison, York, first vice-president, and C. H. Green, Fremont, second vice- president. Columbus, O.—At the annual meet- ing of the Ohio State Horticultural So- ciety, January 12, E. H. Cushman dis- cussed the dahlia; J. H. Dayton talked on "Hardy Ornamentals for Outdoor Planting"; M. B. Faxon, Newport, R. I., told how to grow dahlias; and F. P. Sperry presented "Seed ; W. W. Farnsworth was elected presi- dent ; U. T. Cox, vice-president; and J. Tussing, treasurer. Littleton, N. H.^Parker park has been purchased from Ira Parker by F. E. & F. M. Richardson, who buy the greenhouses and everything connected with the farm. Just what the owners will do with the property has not been decided, but the fires have al- ready been put out in the greenhouses as the cucumber crop was apparently not worth saving. If they are not able to lease the greenhouses, they will tear them down and sell them for old junk.
