NORMAL JOINT—LATERAL VIEW—FRACTURE OF THE LOWER END OF THEFIBULA. The bone structure and the articular surfaces and facets show withremarkable clearness. The astragahis articulates with the tibia and tibuLi above, with the oscalcis below, and with the scaphoid in front. Its head, neck and body can be plainly made out. The OS calcis articulates with the astragalus above and with the cuboidin front. Its tuberosity, grooves and articular facets, and its rougli lowerposterior surface for the attachment of the tcndo Achilhs, all show dis-tinctly. The deep groove on the inferior surface of the cuboid bone, whichlodges the tendon of the Peroncus longus, can also be seen.
