John James Robert Manners, 7th Duke of Rutland (1818-1906), English Conservative politician. Known as Lord John Manners until 1888 when he succeeded his brother as Duke of Rutland. Accompanied Disraeli in 1844 on a tour of the industrial districts of Lancashire and is mentioned in Disraeli's novels 'Coningsby' (1844) and 'Sybil' (1845). Engraving, c1870.
