Weber & Sons Nursery Co., Nursery, Mo., reports a heavy season's business, which is now shaping itself so that he can arrange for a trip to Chicago to attend the American Association of Nurserymen's convention, June 22 to 24, and he will extend his trip east after the meeting. The idea of memorial trees, so widely urged by newspapers just now in honor of soldiers who died in the recent war, received earlier impetus from the '' speak- ers' bureau" of the A. A. N. In striving to impress audiences with the fitness of trees for this purpose, the slogan was suggested, ' * A Tree for Every Service ; The slogan advanced to help along the sale of trees as gifts was this pun, "A Present with a ; LOUISIANA QUARANTINE. May 15 the shipment of nursery stock and ornamental plants from the par- ishes of Orleans and Jefferson was for- bidden by the Louisiana authorities be- cause of the presence in New Orleans of the Japanese camphor scale. The quarantine notice reads as follows: Wliereas. Japanese camphor scale, Pseiuloan- idia duplex, is a dangerous and destructive pest on nursery stock, forest trees and ornamental plants, and whereas it Indicates its ability to enlarge its list of host plants, to include plants of garden and field, therefore, in order to prevent the dissemination of the peat from New Orleans, where it is now established, a quarantine Is hereb
