Kite Festival is celebrated since 1989 in the city of Ahmedabad as part of International Kite Festival, which is official celebration of Uttarayan, and brings master kite makers and flyers. The festival of Uttarayan marks the day when winter begins to turn into summer, according to Indian Calendar. Uttarayan welcomes Harvest, Prosperity and Hope.
