From Selingue the farmer can usually get 5 to 6 tons of rice per hectare. 10 sacks for one ton of rice and maize each can sell for 12,500 per sack, so 120,000 CFA per ton or for 5 tons total value is 600,000 CFA per hectare for the rice. Farmers also pay water charges of 35,000 CFA per season.
