Notes Pieter Glavimans Jr. took in 1809 on his return from France, where he had studied shipbuilding, the design of the frigate La Venus designed by Sané it. It was used as a basis for the design of three Dutch frigates of 44 pieces, the Van der Werff, the Meuse and the IJssel, which planned frigates of 50 pieces Alcides and the Knight of the Union replaced.
