This picture was taken in panne country. (In vogelenzang) The buck is what size terms between deer and red deer in. The color of its coat is initially reddish brown, black or spotted, but get there (even within one pack) many color variants and even solid black and solid white specimens. Furthermore, the deer has a summer coat and winter coat that differ in color from each other. The winter coat is usually gray-beige and has some lighter spots, summer coat which appears after a shedding of around 40 days is maroon with white spots sometimes.
