Conditions last week indicated the pre-Easter tightening up of business. Funeral work was plentiful, but general business slacked up considerably and no doubt the ending of the Lenten season is responsible. Cut flowers are plentiful. Roses are of good quality and have proved to be fair sellers. Carnations and bulbous stock lead in sales and both are plentiful and of good quality. Violets are exceptionally fine and sell moderately well. St. Pat- rick's day called for the usual green carnations, but the demand was not as heavy as it should have been. Easter stock, from all appearances, will be both good and plentiful. All grow- ers who handle this class of stock re- port their crops fine. Various Notes. N. C. Hansen has a fine lot of car- nations and will continue to have them through the Easter season. J. W. Hoffman has moved across Wabasha street on Sixth street and now has a pretty shop. The location, also, is a great improvement over the old stand. The O. R. Eckhardt Co. is handling a heavy lot of cut flowers. The sup- plies also are moving well. Albert Clausen, of -Albert Lea, Minn., who has been at St. Luke's hospital here, suflEering from rheumatism, is feel- ing somewhat better. Mr. Clausen's father was a visitor last week. Holm & Olson have a new runabout car in their city service. J. Christenson, superintendent at Holm & Olson's greenhouses, has pur- chased a plot of ground with three greenho
