LATTER-DAY SAINT Biographical Encyclopedia ANDERSON, Daniel, first Bishopof the Moroni East Ward, MoroniStake, Sanpete Co., Utah, was bornMarch 28, 1866, in Aiken, Veile Amt,Denmark, the son of Niels J. Ander-sen and Karen Marie Nielsen. Heemigrated with his parents to Utahin 1872 and located at Moroni, wherehe has resided ever since. There hewas baptized Sept. 13, 1874, by JohnBlackham, and ordained successivelyto the offices of Teacher, Priest andElder. In September, 1886, he mar-ried Violet Cloward in the LoganTemple. The children of this unionare Mary C, Addie (deceased), Raphel,. Daniel J., Dora and Vivian. BrotherAnderson filled a mission to Norwayin 1904, laboring in the ChristianiaConference, part of the time as pres-ident of the Fredrikshald Branch. Hewas ordained a Seventy by Jacob , July 9, 1905, and acted forseveral years as a president of the 37th quorum of Seventy. In 1907-1908 he filled another mission, thistimo to the Northern States, duringwhich he acted part of the time aspresident of the St. Paul (Minnesota)Branch. On this second mission hewas accompanied by his wife. Afterreturning from this mission, he actedas a stake Sunday school officer, andon Dec. 12, 1914, he was ordained aHigh Priest by Apostle George and set apart as second coun-selor to Bishop Orlando Bradley ofMoroni. He acted in that capacityuntil Dec. 19, 1920, when Moroni wasdivided into two wards, and
