Mrs Gertrude Mahon in the character of Fanny in Niccolo Piccini’s comic opera The Accomplished Maid. Gertrude Mahon, the Bird of Paradise, actress and courtesan, was born in Dublin in 1752 and died after 1808. She never played this role in London. Copperplate engraving by J.
