Forensic drug analysis. This marquis reagent test is used to identify drug substances such as opiates, amphetamine and ecstasy (MDMA). The test contains a mixture of formaldehyde and concentrated sulphuric acid, which is dripped onto the substance being tested. Different compounds produce different colour reactions.
