AIBO robot dog research. AIBO (Artificial Intelligence Robot) is a robot programmed with several dog-like behaviours, including barking, falling over and getting up, sleeping and walking. The robot is activated by remote control but it also has a video camera in its head and pressure and motion sensors in its body. These allow it to respond to physical and visual cues from its owner. Additional software allows AIBO to grow through four stages: baby, child, adolescence and adulthood. AIBO is manufactured by the Sony corporation. Photographed in Japan.
