A war memorial in memory of Trooper Victor Stanley Jones. He was the first Australian soldier to be killed in the Anglo-Boer War in South Africa. The plaque is at Centenary Park in a small agricultural town at Clermont in Central Queensland, Australia. Clermont is on the Great Dividing Range that still retains its old frontier atmosphere of wooden buildings that served the mining community, gold rush, settlers and farmers. It is one of the most historic towns in northern Australia.
