California Army National Guardsmen assigned to the 184th Infantry Battalion, headquartered out of Modesto, conduct night fire operations on Camp Roberts during their annual training, June 6-20, 2015. The Soldiers, trained as mortar men, use their 120 mm mortars to light up the midnight sky with illumination and high explosive rounds in preparation for war games later in the training. The Soldiers take pride when their rounds impact close to each other in the sky. ( Army National Guard photo by Master Sgt.
