An English plug bayonet, circa 1668 Single-edged blade with double-edged point. Comet and king's head mark struck on the reverse. Brass quillons, the arms in the form of sculpted cupids. Characteristically shaped wooden grip, brass pommel cap surmounted by a figure. Original, leather-covered wooden scabbard with (replaced?) brass chape. Length 47 cm.
