Operative Technique—The incisions are made and the scrotumand inguinal invaded in the same manner as that employed in theintra-abdominal variety. Location of the Testicle—The testicle is located by proceedingcarefully up the inguinal canal, at the same time making strictsearch for the tunica vaginalis containing the spermatic cord andsometimes the epididymus. As soon as tunic is encountered ex-amine it carefully in order that no mistake in diagnosis be satisfied that you are in possession of the tunica vaginalis,pass hook knife up the canal sufficiently high to knick the tunicand allow its contents—be they what they may—to escap
