An abundance of stock is being sent into the market and a fairly good de- mand is noted. Last week the attend- anee early in the morning was good and little good stock was left over. Zinnias, asters, dahlias and gladioli are the lead- ers in cheap stock. Roses are especially scarce on the market, although wholesalers have a fair supply in their stores. Small flow- ers are poor and consequently in poor demand, (ireeus favor the buyer. Re- tailers report a good demand for fu- neral work and wholesalers say their local demand is well up to th^ average, though the shipping businsss is still poor. '?^ Various Notes. Douglas Fraser, of Fraser & Son, Pasadena, writes: "Our store will be <jompl(-ted by September 1 and we ex- pect to have our entire establishment in full swing by September ; This has certainly been quick action and is in line with the policy of the firm. Mr. Fraser also writes that the flower seed crops at the firm's growing quarters are most promising this season. F. C. Jaeger, of F. C. Jaeger & Son. San Francisco, left August 22 for home, going by way of Turlock. Mr. J;»eger expressed himself as greatly pleased with his visit. Polder Bros, are bringing in some pretty zinnias, both of the giant-flow- ered type and the baby or midget-flow- ered. Although there are lots of zinnias on the market unsold, John Polder sells out daily, the reason being that the colors are good and the bunches so ar- ranged that every flower shows at its best.
