Our records begin with the statement that a cottage in Froggarts Yard was the first head-quarters of the society. This soonbecoming too small, a remove was madeto an old paint-shop in Silkmill Yard,which in its turn was superseded bythe first connexional chapel built in 1827,when Jabez Woolley was superintendentand the society numbered but thirtymembers. As no site could be obtainedwithin the borough (now greatly enlarged)
