When the planting season ap-proaches, the harrow teeth should be set deep intothe soil to fine and mellow the earth and to let thefat of the land ooze out that it may be at handwhen the young roots have occasion to use steps call for close application, but if to themare added good seed and vital manures an increasedcrop will surely result. Other Crops Should Be Raised.—In addition tocotton there should also be legumes, corn and othercrops. Exclusive cotton growing is fast giving wayto mixed farming. Diversification is now the orderand every cotton farmer must get in line. Corn andcowpeas should be given places of equal importancewith cotton. Not small, inconspicuous corners, but.
