Stereographic (fish-eye) view of Titan's surface as obtained by the European Space Agency's Huygens probe on 14 January 2005. Huygens arrived at Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, after a seven-year voyage from Earth. This image, from an altitude of 5 kilometres, was taken during the 3-hour parachute descent by the Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer (DISR). Titan's atmosphere is mainly nitrogen with clouds of methane and ethane. The surface is a mixture of water and hydrocarbon ice. After landing in a region called Xanadu, the probe transmission to the Cassini orbiter lasted around 90 minutes.
