Cup and saucer. This cup and saucer are embellished with depictions of Chinese figures, a type of decoration called chinoiserie. The figure on the cup plays a wind instrument; the one on the saucer is situated in a landscape. Such decorations, combined with exotic flowers, were inspired by the painted decoration found on porcelain at Meissen from about 1725.
