Next morning, one of the guides killedtwo partridge near the camp beforebreakfast. During the morning we allwent out on the lake to fish. Beniis, Wrightand Elliot would make their camp a fewmiles down Sasaginata Lake, and and myself would go across thesame lake. So altogether we went upBirch Lake and portaged across to ClearLake, which is a beautiful body ofwater, so clear that we could see thewhite sandy bottom through many feetof water. From this we portaged overto the big lake, Sasaginata, and separat-ed as suggested. Mr. Seifert and I with our two guidesand a cook went across the lake to makecamp.
