Miss Gretchen Baumgarten, of the Baumgarten Floral Co., of Milwaukee, Wis., was here October 6. William Swayne, of Kennett, was in town October 4 arranging with William J. Baker for the marketing of his out- put for the coming season. Clarence U. Liggit notes a strong de- mand for young rose plants. Robert B. Bragg mentions the arrival of vellow daisies at Edward Reid 's. Phil. PINE BLUFF, AEK. The business prospects for this sea- son are good. Outdoor flowers are scarce, owing to the drought last summer. Dahlias and asters were a complete failure. The Davis Floral Co. has moved to its new store on West Sixth avenue. The Harper Floral Co. has two fine ]ilant novelties. One is a purple salvia, of which the firm has four plants, all seedlings, and which it may propagate and introduce itself unless it can get a suitable price for it. The other nov- elty is a seedling rose, a cross of Baby Rambler and Tausendschoen. It is de- cidedly dwarf, pink in color, and per- fectly shaped, with many small, narrow petals and a high center somewhat like a pompon mum, about one and a half inches in diameter. It has no thorns.
