Gatehouse of Cooling Castle, Kent


Cooling Castle was built Lord Cobham in 1381 as a defence against French and Spanish Invaders. It was later owned by Sir John Oldcastle, the inspiration for Shakespeare's character Falstaff and more recently has been owned by the musician Jools Holland.
