Uterine septum, image 3 of 4. This endoscope view inside the uterus shows a surgical instrument cutting through the septum (white, vertical), or internal wall dividing the organ in two. This disorder arises when the reproductive organs develop abnormally in the embryo. Once diagnosed, the septum is often removed surgically, as here, in women of child-bearing age to prevent miscarriage.
