Het jaar 1804!!!; Dutch cartoon forecasts aeronautic events for the year 1804 by showing a scene at a failing balloon ascension, in the interests of scientific inquiry, possibly by Wille van de Heeren Hopman and Loude. Men struggle to inflate the balloon, labeled Lust tot Onderzoek, as laborers bring necessary supplies to the loading area and two draft-dogs strain at a wagon carrying vitriol and spykers. Soldiers armed with swords hold back the unruly crowd of spectators.
