Greater Manchester Police called for national help in footing the bill for policing fracking protests and revealed that only 19 of 61 protesters arrested at Barton Moss site 'Camp Barton' are local. There were typically 50 officers required at the site when deliveries were taking place, though as many as 150 officers have been required on a single day.
