MRI of Meningitis
This coronal (frontal view) contrast enhanced MRI image shows a great example of H. Influenza meningitis. Note the extensive ribbon-like enhancement along the surface of the brain which represents pathologic enhancement of the meninges. This is one of the most common etiologies for childhood meningitis.
