Lord Newborough built the chapel, mission house and 'model farm' units for his tenants 1870-75. Victorian Celtic-style cross over Lord Newborough's burial vault. Chapel & Ty Capel (front L,) Nant & Hendy (front R); abbey tower with stockyards to rear (centre), Ty Nesaf & Ty Bach (rear L). Artist & writer Brenda Chamberlain lived on Bardsey 1947-61, mainly in Carreg farmhouse; she described her experiences in the book Tide-race published in 1962.
