The first time I crossed the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge (門脇吊橋 / Kadowaki-tsuribashi) was back in the 1980s. At that time, the bridge would vibrate and swing quite a bit, especially if people tried jumping up and down on it. The bridge deteriorated and was completely replaced in 1997 and is extremely rigid now. The bridge connects a small picnic area and restrooms to the lighthouse on the other side. Bridge is part of the Izu Peninsula UNESCO Global Geopark.
