Kanchanaburi, WWII Death Railway Cemetery Memorial to those that perished whose ashes lie in a common grave
The image was taken at the WWII cemetery in Kanchanaburi that contains the remain or ashes of 7000 allied soldiers from Britain, Australia and the Netherlands that died whilst building the infamous Death Railway from Burma to Siam whilst in the captivity of the Japanese who quite literally worked the men to death along with 100,000 local people. Memorial alcove to servicemen who were known, but whose remains could not be identified.
