In our trials of Watermelons during the past summer the " Wonderful " proved to be the sweetest and nio^t dcsiralile of all. It not only grew to large size, but ripened up uniformly and made fine, solid melons. It originated with a melon grower in North Caro- lina, and is only of recent introduction outside of its native clime, but grows satisiaclorily in all districts where watermelons will ripen. It is a very sweet solid-lleshed sort, often grows to the length of 2 feet, and from 12 to 16 inches in diameter. The rind is marked with bri>ad bands of yello\vi>h-green, shading to deep green ; shaped ol)long ; is entirely string- less, and /ree from hard core. We consider it an acquisition to the list of Melons. Pkt., 10 cts.; oz., 15 cts ; \ lb., 30 cts.; lb., $ This new and distinct Cabbage Lettuce is excellent for spring and summer use, as it stands intense heat. It is of a yellowish-green color, and forms a solid heart, even before it is half grown. It is of superior flavor.
