One of the embrasures in the wall of the guardhouse on Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour.


The Guardhouse was the first building in the Island it was designed to double as a fort so the guards could lock themselves inside in the event of a revolt by the prisoners. They could fire out these numbered embrasures
