This variety makes but few surplus leaves, very short stem and large broad very flat head. It has been known to make heads weighing ten poinds seventy-five days after setting out. We have seen full grown specimens weighing twentv pounds. Market gardeners will find this sort verv profitable. It is being largely planted in the S^uth for earlv shipment to Northern markets. Pkt., 2 for 5c; oz., 20c; \ lb., 65c ; lb., $ sA^harleston Wakefield —It is a great improvement over the Jersey Wakefield in size, a sure header, and well adapted to the South where the variety originated.
