The invasive macroalga Rugulopteryx okamurae piled on the shore of a beach in Tarifa, Cadiz Province, Costa de la Luz, Andalusia, southern Spain. This invasive species, native to western areas of the Pacific including China, Japan and Korea, was first noted in the Straits of Gibraltar in 2015. It is now causing serious disruption to local ecosystems along the Andalusian coast from Tarifa to Cabo de Gata,
